What this module is about

Module Introduction

This module will look at one of the most exciting and rapidly evolving fields within computing: Intelligent Agents. Agents are software programs that can understand their environment and act in a way that helps them achieve their desired goals. They are an intelligent and innovative tool that can be deployed in a whole range of scenarios across the private and public sector.

Key learning objectives

The student gains critical insight into the theory, tools and techniques of intelligent agents, dealing with both the individual agents and with their interactions. Students will gain critical understanding, via a systematic approach, of the domain so that they have the essential knowledge and insight to device these systems using applicable programming languages, such as Java and Python. Students will also be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained from previous modules. State-of-the-art models and the latest developments on model deployment will be discussed.
